The Kingdom of God is like a gift to those who are willing to become like a child, because a child doesn’t expect to earn it.  So they don’t fear being rejected from it and they have enough untainted faith & hope to not limit it or withhold from it.  A child has the boldness to obtain the kingdom of God (probably from the lack of experience with failure and disappointment).  A child would never think that it’s possible for them to own or alter God’s things in His kingdom because they know that they are too little and it’s too big, but a child will love & desire to linger in the wonder of it.  While we are called to be soldiers, watchmen, a terror to evil works, a proclaimer & defender of the truth, we have to also find a way to stay humble and teachable enough to stay HIS little boy/girl. That same softness in us is what makes us his bride.  If a wife loses her softness with her husband, she will begin to lose his willingness to be vulnerable to her and vice-versa.  I want to never outgrow the wonder of the truth and the God that saved me.  I love Him just as He is and I’m so glad that He will never change and if He could fail, it would be easy to forgive Him and it would be an honor to help and restore Him.  Oh how He loves you and me!

Luke 18:16-17 Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Pastor W.H. Vincent

We give honor to our late Pastor, Rev. W.H. Vincent on this first Father’s Day that we face without him .

In his eyes, we’ve seen God’s love.  In his words, we’ve heard God’s wisdom and thru his life we found God’s hope & grace.  He was a father to many.  He was pure hearted and real.  He delighted in the laws and truth of God, and all who really knew him still love him today.  One of the things that he said often was “Reach for the next soul!”  He cared for the broken, wounded and bound.  He protected and defended the widow and fatherless and he ministered to them in their affliction.  We are left with a great commission and tremendous shoes to fill but we will stand up to the challenge and we will press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus!

Thank you Pastor W. H. Vincent, for being the example that you taught us to be and thank you for loving each one of us before we could prove that we were worthy of it.  We will strive to be a church of brotherly love.  We will keep the doctrine that the Lord died to give and we will diligently work to lay upon the foundation & vision that Bro. Murphy, Sis. Melba and you so graciously laid for this place that we call home!

Happy Father’s Day!

Jesus’s physical father taught Him to be a master builder of earthly things but His spiritual Father was a master builder of not only spiritual things but everything ……  In total solitude He divinely & miraculously created the earth and all that it needed to function and when the first Adam failed, God of the universe robed himself to be born into flesh, and given a name above every other name, Jesus!   He began a building project that is still in process thru the Holy Ghost today!  He wants to build His will in each of us, and although he has to tear down some things in our lives to begin the work, He is focused on a beautiful end result!   Master Builder’s are finishers, and He will finish what He started in each of us!  Thank you to the anointed men of Gumpoint Court of Praise who stayed faithful to the place & plan of God’s will for them where the Lord planted them.

On behalf of Bro. Vincent, (who would be so proud and thankful), thank you to the faithful men of our church family who are honest & diligent enough to get back up every time they fall, it takes true courage and commitment to allow the Lord to use life’s adversities, hurt and even your own mistakes, to bring you to the altar of the Lord and on to victory every time!  By the grace of God and application of his word, you have seen the fruit of your labor and you are able to be Godly proud with a clear conscience, that while living in a perilous day you have learned how to walk carefully and grow in character and love for the one true God and the Salvation message that led you here. Thank you for dancing with the God that brung you and thank you for honoring your leaders by serving & growing in the church that the Lord planted you. Thank you for not ever intentionally wanting to hurt what God loves. So many are blessed because of your obedience to the Lord’s will for your life.

Attention: Followers of Jesus

Attention: Followers of Jesus

Matthew 16:24-25 says …..Then said Jesus unto his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my name sake shall find it.

What it takes to start following the Lord is a crucifixion of selfish desires, opinions, affections for things that gratify flesh, and yes, sometimes dreams have to die…… and what it takes to continue on to the narrow & straight road to finish with everlasting life, is the same thing that it took to please HIM when you found him and it’s the same thing that it takes to receive the benefits of living life as The King’s kid.  If your dream is from HIM and for HIM, then you are not risking its loss when you daily give it TO HIM.

It is dangerous to assume that we have learned God’s voice so much that we can begin thinking & talking for him and forget to CHECK WITH HIM!  An annual check up or a conference based inventory is life threatening to a follower of God.  The Lord wants to lead us daily and that means that we have to die daily so that we get behind him and not in front of him!

Our checklist FOR THE DAY, EVERY DAY remains the same:

        1. Before decisions are made, before mood & expectations are set for the day…… Read your bible, worship & thank the Lord, acknowledge HIM in whom HE is and what HE likes!  Do this to transform & realign your mind to meet with the cause that God himself loved enough to die for.  Once you acknowledge HIS WILL for all of mankind, then you can begin to acknowledge what HE wants for you to do today!  Our job is to fulfill the Old & New Testament, not to alter, erase or recreate it– there’s enough to do without adding one thing!
        2. Acknowledge YOU & YOUR WAYS, in the presence of HIM…. this will automatically lead to no. 3.
        3. Repent in Godly sorrow, humility & hope of who you can be if you’ll let your Creator recreate & change what does not meet up with who HE is and pray in the Holyghost until the Lord gives you the strength, courage & plan to change something/s about yourself .
        4. Thank Him and worship Him for showing you something else that will save & direct your life .
        5. Now you can bring your requests to Him boldly and begin to worship, praise & thank Him in faith that He is a wonderful Father, Friend & Redeemer that has good things planned for you if you ask according to HIS WILL.

After a daily checklist, it may be safe to assume that you are hearing the Lord’s voice and now it may be possible to say “God said “. Proverbs 9:10 …The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

“God-esteem” in a “self-esteem” generation & world

If you were drowning , would you reason with the one who can pull you up out of the noisy waves?  While smothering, would you smite the hand that offers you  sweet oxygen?

Without a change, without help, without a savior, without a plan…….  No man & no woman can do enough good to redeem what sin will do without the Spirit of the Lord living inside of them, God-around-us isn’t enough to make us right.   No sacrifice will ever become a loop hole to prevent us from needing the repentance that God died for us to use.  God’s plan is not an abstract piece of art that is left to private interpretation.

God came to earth to be “used” even though he knew that it would require being abused.  If the Lord was willing to do all of that to produce the good news of the plan of salvation, then why would HE want that plan to ever change?  This world has not waxed warm with love for their Creator, but instead it’s waxed cold and in desperate need of saving!

Blessings are not prophesied to those that maneuver, pervert, distort, add to or take away from the Word of God in it’s original context & perception that it began with from the beginning.  He is the Rock of Ages, and the Bible says “For I am the Lord, I change not.” To serve HIM is to serve what HIS goal was and is as God, and not to serve our version of godliness!  To be a Christian is not defined by how much scripture we quote, how righteous we look or act, but to be a Christian is to love the Lord so much that we are willing to deny ourselves, pick up our cross, follow and change to be LIKE HIM!

I need the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ!  It took HIS blood years ago before the world became what it is now and it most certainly will take the application of HIS BLOOD, HIS PLAN, HIS WORD, HIS SPIRIT, HIS CHARACTER, HIS TRUTH AND HIS LOVE today !

I accepted HIM as my personal Savior long before I loved HIM or truly wanted to obey HIM, and worshiping HIM indeed helps me to feel better and it can get HIM to draw nearer to me, but being LIKE HIM is what HE died to give you and me.  HE wants to adopt you, give you HIS name, and exchange your DNA for HIS divine nature….. as we truly receive HIM in fullness of who HE is and what HE wants, we then become HIS, and when we are HIS, it is not hidden, it will show and we will become a “God-esteem” type of person in a “self-esteem” generation & world.  Just think of how much better a God-phone would be instead of an iPhone.

God’s Permissive Will or God’s Grace?

It was not God’s perfect will that Jonah refused to obey God; but it also wasn’t God’s perfect will that Jonah perish.  When his shipmates threw him off the boat because his disobedience was affecting their peace, it wasn’t the devil that sent a vehicle directly to where Jonah was- that could breathe under water and carry him to God’s perfect will.  Whether his shipmates or the residents of Nineveh liked it or not, the Lord permitted Jonah to live.  And although Grace is hard for us church folk to accept for ourselves or to use for others– it isn’t hard for God because He already died for it.  God doesn’t use Grace sparingly.  Thank God!  When we step outside of His perfect will, as every child of God has at some point, He amazes us with His Grace.  God, help us be publishers of the very Grace, Peace, Love, Hope and Truth that we depend on for ourselves!  The people that are the most guilty of secret sin are the ones who hold the highest standards for others; and the people that aren’t perfected in God’s Love are the same people who are too bound by fear to use their faith to access God’s Grace when they need it.  Peter used Faith alone to access Grace; and Judas died by the lack of Faith in repentance and God’s Grace to forgive.  Although Grace has been abused and misinterpreted in our religious world, it’s none of our business; and we will answer for our own.  Don’t let your disobedient brother’s and sister’s mistakes corrupt your innocence and faith in God’s Grace, because your belief in it could be what saves you when you reach an uncontrollable place that life brings.  Grace is still what saves me and you.  The more we give it out, the more we get it for ourselves!

Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into the grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God

There is NO microwaved Plan of Salvation

Deuteronomy 32:46-47
Moses said ……Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.  For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

After Moses got all fueled up in the Mount, he came down to teach God’s people who so desperately needed direction.  But instead of finding them as anxious students preparing for his return, unfortunately he found impatient do-it-yourselfers.  A temporary fix won’t take long to get and it won’t last long once you have it, but a message from the Mount is worth the wait!  It takes perseverance to build a house on a rock, but it will outlast the blowing of troublesome winds of life and it will stand strong against the thunderous lightening of the enemy’s punches.  There is no microwaved Plan of Salvation.  It wasn’t thought of last minute– there was no improvising!  It cost the Lord everything and he didn’t fall short on paying the full price for the redemption of our sins. Shouldn’t we be willing to do everything that he said that it would take to receive it and apply it to our lives?  God died for me to have it, I want it!  I don’t want to try to alter it now when it’s worked all of this time the way that it was given to the church of the book of Acts in the New Testament.  Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again!  Matthew 7:26 / John 3:7
